Sales – Cost of Sales = Gross Profit
Sales- Cost of Sales = 20% of the Cost of Sales
£400,000 – Cost of Sales = 20% of the Cost of Sales
£400,000 = Cost of Sales + 20% of the Cost of Sales
£400,000 = 120% of the Cost of Sales = Cost of Sales * 1.2
Cost of Sales = £400,000 / 1.2 = £333,333
